Family

As you may have guessed, there hasn't been a spare moment for me to blog.  Every moment has been filled with family, food, gifts, enjoyment, games, love, and prayers of thanksgiving.  Our children have been grateful, gracious, loving, and mannerly towards everyone they've been around.  My daddy has helped them with their English and lets them play his harmonica, my mama has cooked with Angela, and Lizet took to my brother affectionately. Xavier loves the pool at my in-laws, my mother-in-law took the kids to Build-a-Bear and baked chocolate chip cookies with Lizet, and my father-in-law watches them as they swim and hugs them, loving them unconditionally.  Tonight, my son asked if he can live with us until he's 100. Would it surprise any of you to know that it thrilled my soul?!

I've discovered they enjoy Tex-Mex.  Thank you, Jesus!  Even Angela, who wasn't fond of beans in Peru, gobbled up her refried beans!  Chicken quesadillas with beans and rice was their meal of choice and they all loved it! Lizet and Xavier ask for no ice with sodas, but Angela accepts ice. It's interesting to see the newness they embrace and the familiar to which they cling.
